feeling we are walking [if not running] down the road to dependence........ id like to pause and thank our forefathers for being brave enough, and having the
foresight, to establish a country that has now succeeded in outsurviving any other democracy in the history of the earth.
you will note -
both my wifes mother and my mother were german - ive hung that flag 'below' the flag of this great nation.
my wifes father was czech - that flag is on the left, my father was scot - that flag is on the right [actually behind in this photo but lets not get picky]
and in spite of what i might prefer at times we drive american cars, and im upset that any will not survive the current BS by BO.
unseen behind me is my minnesota made boat, with an evinrude propellant. im hoping the boat factories north of me survive as well, they are suffering severely.
what im getting to is that im going to celebrate the 4th visiting my mother who has taken a turn for the worse, nothing that immanent [like all of the other american institutions ive mentioned] but pretty much a concern for me this 4th, and a source for concern to the siblings, i guess the times they are a changing, i hope, i pray, and i will get up in the morning expecting......
i trust you all will have a bit more festive 4th, its a great day and a glorious history - in spite of our faults and no matter what some revisionist might say, the world is a far better place because we were here.
