took so long to get that the racism in affirmative action is just that, and unconstitutional?
im not saying that the court was slow - they acted quick enough on this one,
but they are overturning a racist ruling by a potential supreme court justice too, and why was that allowed to stand even this long?
how the hell does a firefighters test become racist? ........ oops, i just got the answer, on jim bohanan -- the weight of the test was on the written exam, not the oral exam.
so let see here - if a test is written a poor minority person cant read and write? so they didnt do as well? is that not a racist assumption?
well, in that case isnt a test weighted to a verbal test - then not racist because those white honkeys cant talk too good?
see my point? ..... if not , then im sorry, i didnt mean to offend, but i think educated people can speak, write, read, and pass a test [even though i find most tests offensive].
i dont assume minoritys cant read and write, and i dont think that they speak better on tests than they read and write, if you cant do one, or two, you dont do the third any better.
but all of this said, can i mention a couple things ive learned over a reasonably long lifetime?
1] many people i know that dont read, write, speak well, but can do their job really good and when i talk to them i understand everything we are discussing with not too many problems, except for stuff i dont know
2] im not real picky about who saves my a$$ when theirs a fire - if they are available, capable, and willing, i like them a bunch, id do the same for them, even if we dont speak the same language, and especially if they maybe failed a stupid test
3] mostly what im ranting about is that it seems we are getting politics involved with a whole bunch of life things that it doesnt belong in, like testing me to see how well i read, write, or speak, instead of looking at my job duties and how i perform them [given that i should be tested on those things if thats my job-like teachers? but the color of my skin shouldnt dictate, nor should it get privilege, when it comes to the consideration - it should be the qualifications [cant pass the test - your out] but dont make the test a political thing, make it about the job
