Not sure whats going on but been stumbling across the old stuff lately. Week ago at a little gun show, came up with a Lee Enfield ShtLE, 1910. Unmodified,
by bubba that is, does have a WWII sling. Very dark oak stock, no volley sights, but does have the cut-off, barrel number matches the nose cap. Then this
past weekend, another tiny show, minding my own business, looking for some .45 ammo. Red/White painted stripe stood out on a very dark old rifle. Sorta
calls to you. Hmm, Pattern 1914 with matching numbers, with only a hole thru the chamber. Even has good rifling. Needed something to keep the model 1917
company, so home it comes. Got caught up in the semi frenzy, friend at a gun shop sold me a pattern 1911 Taurus in .45. Think I'll just stay home rest of
the winter, got guns to clean anyhow.

and yet another welcome sgt K , congrats on the buys , id love to see photos too if that would be possible , we live vicariously you know ,
id be very interested in the SMLE , an oak stock would be an annomily as they were mostly walnut with some ausie coachwood in wwII and some indian mahogany , curently theres some teak being used by austraian arms on their new made versions of the enfeilds , im guessing yours is actualy walnut that looks like oak , or an indian mahogany replacement stock , but we must see it , i learned a long time ago never say always or never when discussing enfeilds , the P14 sounds like a nice grab , those-P14/M17s are some of my favorites for a whole variety of reasons , |

Well thanks for the welcome. I have a problem with pics, have a good digital camera, take pics often, but cannot upload to a photo site. Very slow isp here,
about 12k, even if I shrink the pic, connection with said sites collapses before the pic is up. Often send photos by email tho. I just figured you already
knew what an Enfield looks like! Lol. Have come up with an idea to recover the pattern 14, rifling looks too good to let it go to waste.

The rifles against the tree are, Model 1917 Eddystone had it better than 15 years, shoots very well. The next is a 1918 BSA great bore. Third is a 1918 BSA,
great shooter with 1918 leather sling. Next is a 1918 Enfield, all matching numbers, mismatched wood, with white web parade sling. Last is a 1944 Lithgow MA,
a Jovino mixmaster. Has a stamping MA / 50, on the reverse of the butt socket. Dark parkerizing all very uniform. All new metal, heavily sanded stock, but
new looking overall. Question, shouldn't a 1944 Lithgow have the big shield around the name? It doesn't. The first four are about as original as it
gets, no shiny restoration parts. The small pic is of the 1918 BSA's, have a 1914 too with that green paint. Since taking the pic have gained several
no.4's. Plus a 1910 no.1 mk.1. but its wearing fancy monte carlo wood. and a scope. Don't blame me, I bought it that way. Bought more as good
shooters than good lookers. John
