I missed seeing anything about her till now.
When I talk about the future my quote is "if I can live long enough". My father was 40 when he died and most of his siblings were in their 40s and 50s. I also was 40 when I had my first heart attack and will be 69 in a month if I can live long enough. My mother's and her sibs live till 80s and 90s so I have half a chance. Rad

Sad to think of, but we all must pass, it is the end of the journey that was begun at our birth.

I hope Roy and his bride see many more years.
Someday's I find myself more content than I have ever been. Never was a jolly or really happy fellow, mostly depressed. Now I think a ironic end is going to come my way. As I finally accept things and become 'happier' and want to 'live' more than ever, the end will come. Teaches me to defeat depression. Glad I do not know the time or place, would drive me nuts. Sometimes I think we are the last generation watching the ushering in of the great tribulation. I am not one of those convinced in the pre-tribulation rapture, but would be very happy to be 'caught up'. But then every Christian generation thinks it is the last one. Hopefully we do repeat something like living in the time of the black death. Cork .....my dog is 17 in 2 weeks and is another nursing home patient here. Deaf, virtually blind, whines, wets, bites when startled. She needs to pass on but I am convinced she is working on making 20.

Good thoughts Cork, I feel pretty much the same way. I've been hearing all my life that the end was near and they are right. From the moment that we are
born the end just keeps coming closer and closer until we finally make it to the end of our journey here. Thats one thing that we can count on is that the end
is coming. But in my own personal view I know for myself that I have an eternity with our Lord to look forward to and it makes a big difference in the way I
view my end here. If it ends here tommorow I've had a blessed life that I have truly enjoyed and am content myself.
A square, I went fishing today since we are on short time at work and didn't do all that well by most standards. Only five catfish and they were on the small side. I went by myself so I quit fishing when I tired of that and just rode around the lake and stopped and looked at things that I wouldn't take time to if I had someone else with me. Had a great time exploring like a kid or something. I guess thats what keeps me going. I've never really grown up and still find a lot of pleasure in just goofing off and enjoying my time the best that I can. I came home about 4:00 or so and took a short nap and relived in my mind everything that I did today. Thats what keeps me young.

I've spent untold hours just driving around the back roads up here, just slowly moving along and seeing what was here and there, around the next curve in
the road; have done that all my life. Did that in Idaho by spending hours and hours out in the plateau desert above the Snake River, on foot, turning rocks
over and peering under the sagebrush. Same for everywhere I've ever been that wasn't mined to keep me out. One of my great joys was in getting a
"fish finder" on my boat - not to find fish but to see what the bottom of the lake looked like. There is a "mortality" concept that
fascinated me for many years; we are born, reach our optimal physical capability at about 18 years of age and then decline over the next decades, plotted as a
progressively steepening decline until we reach the end of life. Reminds me of a ballistic chart. Sometimes the intercept is at 60 years, sometimes at 90 for
"point of impact". I turned 66 this June 18th and except for more aches and fatigue, I am still 20 in my mind. My favorite Gary Larson Far Side
cartoon is the one with the idiot in hell, whistling happily as he stokes the furnace of hell while two devils watch him - one saying to the other "You
know, we just aren't getting through to this guy."

I know what you guy's mean, Things can seem rough at times. But I feel that I have had a blessed life. I had major surgery that could have taken my life
but it didn't. It left me with legs that I can't use and in a wheelchair but I was determined that it would not stop me, and it hasn't as most of
you know I fish, hunt and do just about anything elese that someone else might do you just adapt and find ways around the things the you can't do that other
folks do. I am a retired counciler 20 yrs. I did 15 yrs volenteer work in a nursing home sitting with folks in their last days talking to them and hearing
their thoughts about their last days of life. I have the best wife a man could ask for Carolyn she had polio when she was 5 yrs old and was left in a
wheelchair also but taught school 30 yrs and retired and we took care of Carolyn's mother in her last day's and that was not easy for my wife to watch
her mother slowly slip away but we got through it and the end does come to all of us and we know there is better day coming one day for all of us and we have
our most trusted companion Jack our dog and we are happy thats what count's. So really I have a blessed life and can't complain. I'll get down of
my soap box now.
